African American Church Planting
Monday/Tuesday
July 25/26
Vision 2020 Leadership Conference is being held at the Wooster Grace Brethren Church, July 23-27. Besides building relationships among us, hearing good music and learning from great speakers, Monday and Tuesday afternoons are set aside for “networking.” Those of us who have a heart for reaching people in African American communities should plan to join the discussion that is being prepared for that purpose on Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday afternoon there will be a meeting with African Americans and others who share a burden for the African American communities in Ohio. The purpose is to further discuss the identification of African Americans in our fellowship, and strategize how to plant new churches among predominantly Black communities. If you have a burden for this undertaking, and especially if you are an African American, please pray and plan to participate in these meetings. (Note: During the Monday afternoon time slot there will be a meeting just for African Americans. Anyone who IS an African American is urged to come and be a part of this discussion. If you have friends that would qualify and be interested in this conversation, please help and encourage them to come and join us.)
Our African American team––Pastors Stephen Joyce, Ray Miller, and Tyrone Curtis––will be hosting the time of interaction and presentations. They believe that this initiative is urgent; they say we are running out of time to make this happen, so let’s do it NOW! Their enthusiasm and commitment will encourage and motivate you to get onboard with 2020 Future Story of adding 8 more African American led churches to our family.
