Breaking News:

VisionOhio (VO) is pleased to announce that Dr. Tony Webb has become the second full-time staff person with VisionOhio on February 1, 2010 after enjoying nearly nineteen years pastoring Southwest Grace in Grove City, Ohio. VisionOhio is an Ohio Grace Brethren church planting group seeking recognition as a full cooperating organization by the FGBC at our conference this summer. Dr. Webb will continue to give oversight, to recruit church planters and to coach, but a unique twist is that he will personally engage church planting. Tony and Cathy are asking God for one or two more new churches in the greater Central Ohio area and have recently initiated a new church in North Columbus. Tony and Cathy believe they can work on 2 or 3 new churches at a time using a cost effective Gatherer/Shepherd/Elder process. The Gatherer’s work is to reach out and draw people to the new group; as the group’s Shepherd, Tony will take care of the group until such time when the Lord of the Harvest raises up an Elder to lead the group into greater definition and growth. Having worked with VO for over 4 years, Dr. Webb has been the director of VO the past 2 years in a part-time capacity. This full-time status is an unfunded position and, like VO Senior Missionary Ron Boehm, Tony will be raising support to carry on this church planting effort. Please take a moment to pray, asking God for a ‘church a day’ (Acts 16:5) in Ohio among those churches that preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. The need for new churches is overwhelming, the harvest is ready, the workers are few. For more information related to church planting in Ohio, please go to www.visionohio.org.
