  • Story: A couple from our launch team has been praying for and meeting with a friend of theirs, who is a first generation American whose parents were born in India.  This young lady, M, has been very interested in learning about Christianity and has been peppering our teammates with lots of spiritual questions and has purchased a Bible.  When M learned that we were establishing Capital City Grace Church, she became very interested and wanted to find out all about our new church.  Our teammates invited M and her husband to a launch team meeting where we were demonstrating how to start conversations with people and transition into a brief spiritual interest survey.  Both M and her husband enjoyed their time with us, and they said that they didn't think our survey would be offensive to people.  M even expressed an interest in going along with our teammates when they visited one of our target neighborhoods to meet people and engage them in conversation.

    After they left our launch team meeting, our teammates continued to have more spiritual conversations with M.  We are praying, along with our teammates, that God's Spirit would draw M into a loving relationship with Jesus, and that perhaps, she might be the first to be baptized at Capital City Grace.

  • Current Status: We held our first weekly public service on March 15, 2009 at the Arena Grand Movie Theatre in Downtown Columbus.  We meet every week in the theatre as well as have monthly events reaching out to the people of the Downtown neighborhoods.  Pray for us as we are still getting the word out about this new church.   We are also looking for "pioneers" - people who want to invest six months, a year, or more into starting this church with us.  Can you give up six months or a year to help us get this church started?  If so, contact us!  We need sound people, teachers, musicians, evangelists, etc.  We'd love hear about your heart for reaching others in the city!
